Realise that Meredy used the Sense Link to feel Ultear's emotions AFTER her battle with Juvia 👀 Before she didn't know that her magic could also link emotions, she thought it only linked physical pain and death. After fighting Juvia she realised it can also link emotions, I just picked that up

Hope people manage to avoid the temptation of just explaining it for you. He's a complicated villain, which is why he is my favorite. "In order not to steal people's souls I cannot forget the weight of a human life" I am pretty sure should have been something like "I must forget ..". CadeNoCap explained that well above here though. The fact that the first time Zeref uses his powers properly at all without restraint he ends Hades who the entirety of Fairy Tail (core members) struggled to defeat with essentially a flick of the wrist is so cold, and puts it into perspective that no matter how insane Hades was, he is nothing next to Zeref. Love that scene.

Gildarts...well...he roams around all over the world on jobs, and is a good looking guy with powerful magic, so of COURSE he gets all the chicks haha.

Basically how Zerefs curse/magic works is the more he cares about life, the more life disappears around him (example: plants/trees/people/wildlife all dying around him) and vice versa if he doesn’t care for life the power doesn’t trigger on its own (but he’s in an evil state of mind hence why he’s so feared)
