All Lost Magic have limitations of some sort (you'll learn Dragon Slayer Magic's limitations later), and the limitations for Arc of Time is probably the fact that it can't be used on humans, or you can't literally turn back time with it, or you can't time travel, etc etc. Having the ability to manipulate time to it's fullest extent would literally be up there with reality warping and manipulation, it would be so broken Zoldeo's Lost Magic was possessing Capricorn, and being able to summon humans, when the opposite is usually humans summoning spirits. The drawback to that was when Zoldeo was freed from Capricorn's body, he died. Likewise, all Lost Magic have drawbacks and/or limitations like I said

I like how they didn't do anything unrealistic to get Gray to win, especially since Ultear's magic is super overpowered, the only way Gray won is because he knocked sense into her (and into the ocean loll) where she found her mother's memories.

If you recall, Ul said that each maker magic has their own form, and you can see it in the color differences. Gray's ice is blue, Lyon's ice is a lighter shade of blue, and Ul's ice is purple. It's dope

After all they told Ultear she requested for them "to strengthen her magic power", only to find stronger children who made her happy. That combined with mental and physical torture and isolation, no wonder she went of the deep end.
