There is quite the irony in what happened between Vetca and Shasta, the Dark Territory doesn’t have any Taboo Index, instead it operates on the law of power, you can’t disobey those you recognize as stronger/superior to you. Vecta might have been holding titles like God and an Emperor but he had yet to actually show himself truly superior to anyone, that’s why people with strong will and conviction like Lipia and Shasta could go against him without blowing up their eyes. But now he just shrugged off an attack from Shasta that instantly eradicated other lords, an attack that had everyone shaking in fear, as if it was nothing, firmly cementing himself as the most powerful and most superior person in the room. Also as you summarized Gabriel is fucking insane, some people that see this assume Gabriel has some weird actual power in real life but he is simply delusional. The problem is that this delusion and insanity work quite well with the Incarnation in underworld that turns things you truly believe into reality and the powers of Vecta the God of Darkness.
