Where I've been

I know I haven't posted in about 6 weeks & wanted to let you all know why.

On 10-17, I went to the  Emergency Room, as I  had a fever of more than 100.4. With Chemo, if you  have a fever in that range, you're supposed to go to the ER.

When  I got there, I tested positive for Covid. I was put in a room & was  there a week or so. Then, we get to what I don't remember. I recall telling my mom that "A week from today is election day." After that, I  vaguely remember someone asking who could make decisions for me. I know I  clearly told them my mom.

After that, I found  myself in this nightmarish hellscape. I wasn't even sure who I was. And  when I opened my eyes, there were the faces right above me, screaming at  me. I had a tube down my throat & felt like I was dying. After 3  days, there was finally one nurse that got through to me. She kept  saying, "Breath IN through your nose, breath OUT through your mouth."  When that finally got through to me & when I tried it, I realized I  wasn't going to die from this thing down my throat. It was still several  days of the most horrific hallucinations you can imagine. It is beyond  my understanding why anyone would ever VOLUNTARILY take such a thing.

Also,  when I did open my eyes and see the ICU room, halls, etc., they looked  hyper-real to me, like a CGI film. Even when I was awake, I didn't  believe this was reality. Finally, my wife, mom, & daughter  contacted me on an iPad. That's when I finally believed that  was real.

Since then, they've removed the tube and transferred me  to a rehab facility. I've lost 35 lbs and my weakness is  mostly in my legs. My arms, of course, have had over 50 years of  artistic workout, so they're good.

Thank you for the update, I've been concerned. That is a shocking account, I'm glad that you survived it and are getting treatment.

Hang in there. It's scary, I know, having spent a bunch of time in hospitals myself, but you should know that I -- and a lot of other people are thinking of you and hoping for the best.

What a harrowing series of events, I can't even imagine how terrifying it had to be. I'm glad to hear you're recovering, your inner strength is a marvel, we're rooting for you!

Scary stuff - You're not alone in your experiences - I've heard similar stories from friends of our family. I hope you've pulled through, and continue to improve daily!

Oh, goodness! I'm so sorry. Do you have a KoFi or something to donate to, if that would be helpful?

My heartfelt well wishes Tebra, I wish you a good recovery. I'm so relieved to hear you are okay, take all the time you need.

Litar

This is horrifying and I'm deeply sorry you went through it. I'm truly happy you've pulled through, though, and I look forward to seeing new and wonderful art from you. Take all the time you need.

Oh my gosh, you poor thing...I'm so sorry you had to go through all that! Thank you for the update--it's always good to hear from you--but don't worry about us, your first priority is getting well. Though I'm glad to hear you're on the mend, and that all those years building up artwork muscles paid off! :D

Oh dear, that sounds absolutely terrible. I hope you’re taking it easy Tebra.

Oh god :( that's terrible. And to think some underestimate Covid. I'm not the praying type but I'm keeping you in my thoughts and, especially now, my subs. I can only wish you a hearty recovery and hope you aren't too impacted by this all. You certainly don't owe us an explanation; none of this is your fault.
