Change of Policy
Added 2020-06-30 06:47:14 +0000 UTCI'm quite vexed my some recent events of people leaking my patreon works,
I've been keeping quiet about it but right now it actually affects my income, in huge numbers.
I felt quite paranoid that I'd still continue to lose income if the work would get leaked at the very first day, so I might change my reward to view only.
It would be downloadable, but during some point of near the end of month.
Would that be okay to you guys? I'd still want to keep privileges to my supporters as priority.
Also, I do know that some amount of supporters do leak my work before I put it on gumroad , I just needed to say, those people are the driving force of this change of policy, or even me quitting animation full-time altogether.

I would have to talk to you one on one only because your Situation is hard to give you a direct answer

2020-07-01 05:53:21 +0000 UTCThat is not much of a problem because Gumroad is usually way more expensive. Also when you do it at the end of the month, folks can decide during the month to still join because you do an animation with a character they like a lot.

2020-06-30 14:10:14 +0000 UTCI can also release rewards on gumroad the same day as it was released on patreon, but that would make the monthly rewards less exclusive.

2020-06-30 12:57:17 +0000 UTCTo build off that, because I do think it sounds like a good idea to personalize each reward to a patron in order to stop anonymous reward posting. Maybe instead of a pixel, there could be a four-digit code hidden somewhere in the art/animation in one frame or another than Omy would only know where it is. If the art is posted, they can look through the art/animation and see 'H2OW' (or something) in the bg and check notes, and know exactly who's reward it was.

2020-06-30 11:05:10 +0000 UTCThis is an extremely frustrating thing to have to go through, and I'm so sorry it's happening. Whatever decision you make to protect your art and your income, i fully support you. I hope everything works out.

2020-06-30 10:57:02 +0000 UTCIf possible, and I know it's probably a lot of work, but you should watermark all of the rewards with something unnoticeable (like a random pixel or something) and document which watermarks correspond to each user you sent the works to. "Every patreon reward is personalized" It would quickly expose whoever is leaking it, so you can get rid of them. But I understand if it's an insane amount of work to do just to expose a few, but remember that for every person you expose, it also helps other patreon artists in blocking that account from their art too. It would also impose the difficult of distributing the art, so it's understandably hard to consider. I'm sorry to hear that you're facing this :(

2020-06-30 08:12:22 +0000 UTCAnd just to clarify, this policy is not set in stone yet. I'm just 'considering' it. It does need to be worked on differently after all.

2020-06-30 07:05:14 +0000 UTCSo this change of policy doesn't mean you don't get to download rewards; it's just you get access to downloading later on during that month.

2020-06-30 07:02:52 +0000 UTCIf only theirs a way to report to those who are leaking your artwork and have it removed it from the website.
