I’m Batman (HP Xover) C44
Added 2022-06-13 00:18:01 +0000 UTCAfter admiring the large pile of treasures, Bruce walked around and perused all of the books and other random objects. While looking around, Bruce found something that he wouldn’t be messing with whatsoever. At least not until he could destroy it.
Ravenclaws Diadem, or the fourth Horcrux made by Voldemort and hidden in the Room Of Requirement.
Bruce remembers that it was supposed to have some magical ability, most likely related to wisdom, but he wouldn’t go near it. The risk of being possessed, like Ginny Weasley in her first year, was definitely possible.
Bruce wouldn’t be able to touch or study the diadem until he can destroy the piece of Tom Riddle's soul attached to it. A Horcrux can only be destroyed with Basilisk Venom, Fiendfyre, or the Killing Curse. If there are other ways, then Bruce would have to learn them.
He only hopes that the diadem and its magical abilities won’t be destroyed in the process. The best way to keep it undamaged would probably be the Killing Curse, which he would have to learn in secret, due to it being one of the three highly illegal Unforgivable Curses.
The likelihood of Albus Dumbledore agreeing to teach him such a curse would be absolutely zero.
What surprised Bruce though, was the fact that Voldemort left all the treasures and books here. Though it’s possible he already took some but left what he couldn’t fit in his luggage.
Then he was never able to come back and finish his looting, which could be one of the reasons he wanted to become the DADA Professor back in the day.
Other than exploring the Room Of Requirement, Bruce finally filled the Light Factions coffers.
He managed to get Dumbledore to take him to Gringotts and found out Goblins do have muggle bank accounts. Using the same Goblin that he initially exchanged money with, Bruce had Alfred wire over 3 billion dollars.
Due to exchanging such an astronomical amount of money, Bruce got an amazing deal and received 1 billion Galleons in return, which went straight into the Light Factions vault.
It’s safe to say that the Goblin that made such a huge exchange of money was truly ecstatic. No doubt he became the envy of every other Goblin in Gringotts.
Though, the Goblin wasn’t the only one that was happy.
Albus was over the moon and said that the Light Factions vault has never been so full before. The large majority of the light faction is poor noble families and civil workers, similar to the Weasleys, and families like that are barely surviving on magic and what little sickles they have.
-Flashback-
“Thank you, my boy, but are you sure you didn’t give us a little too much?” Albus asked as they returned to his office after their trip to Gringotts.
“I gave you about 3% of my main bank account. I’ll make it back in no time.” Bruce says with a shrug. “Just let me know if you need more.”
Dumbledore seems to have underestimated how wealthy his student was. At this moment his mouth hung open with his eyes wide open in shock.
“Don’t look so surprised. The Wayne Family is the wealthiest in the muggle world.” Bruce brags a bit as he leans back in his chair. “So, who are you bribing first?”
“Please don’t use such terms. Think of it more of a donation to certain parties, so they would vote in our favor.” Albus makes it sound better than it is.
“Yeah, a bribe.” Bruce nods with a smile.
“Sigh... Yes, a bribe-” Dumbledore relents. “-and why not start at the top of the pyramid? The Minister for magic, Cornelius Fudge, will sway whichever way the money is flowing. Politicians need funding for the campaign trail, not to mention the luxuries they like to drown themselves in.”
“So, who has the good Minister in their pocket at the moment?” Bruce asks.
“That would be Lucius Malfoy.” He answers.
“How will Mr. Malfoy react to this move of yours?” Bruce asks.
“Oh, I’m sure he’ll be very displeased,” Albus says this with an evil smirk. ”The Malfoy’s rose to their current status using money, so some competition should be most unwelcome.”
-Flashback End-
Throughout the months leading up to the Halloween Feast, Bruce kept his new and busy schedule going in full force.
During the mornings he would wake up early and lead everyone in their morning exercises.
After morning breakfast, classes start and Bruce would say goodbye to his fellow first years. Second-year classes were only a bit challenging in the beginning, but after 2 months he was breezing through the curriculum and started sleeping through most classes.
Sometimes he would skip classes too, but the Professors didn’t mind. They understood that he was ready for the next grade, yet the Headmaster wouldn’t allow it.
Once classes ended, Bruce would attend his time traveling lessons, given by his teacher, Albus Dumbledore. Albus has been teaching him things from the basics of magic to dueling, which Bruce found rather interesting.
Thankfully, Bruce was in top shape so he got to skip the exercises and get straight into dueling etiquette and tactics. He especially likes the art of chaining spells back to back.
He had many practice duels against his teacher and found that someone of Dumbledore’s skill could chain spells indefinitely. While Bruce could only chain about 5 in a row before he lost concentration and needs a second to start again.
Bruce’s main goal in these duels is to make Albus move from his spot. Not once has he been able to make his teacher move a single inch. No matter how many or how powerful the spells he throws, Dumbledore simply backhands them away or shields them with either the Protego spell or transfiguration.
After his five hours of private lessons, Bruce would check in on Harry and everyone else for lunch. Just to keep up appearances and make sure they aren’t slacking in their studies.
As soon as his stomach is full, Bruce slips away with one excuse or another and sneaks into the Room Of Requirement (ROR).
His main goal in the ROR is to find the most interesting objects and books to take back with him during Christmas break.
At first, he didn’t plan on returning home for Christmas, but then he remembered that he needs something to carry all of his loot from the ROR. This means he would need a few more trunks, as his current one just isn’t going to cut it.
Especially if he wants to take that giant hill of treasures with him, which he certainly does.
Bruce also wants to see Alfred again, who he’s sure would appreciate him returning for winter break.
The nights after inventorying the ROR were spent relaxing and hanging out with Harry and everyone else.
Neville, who wasn’t exactly a member of the group in the movies, became one fairly quickly. Hermione has toned down her bossy know-it-all nature, and Harry started to become a bit more confident in himself.
The only one that was growing at a snail's pace was Ron, who Bruce is starting to believe may have some type of learning disability. Nothing crazy but possibly ADHD or Dyslexia.
Bruce would have to speak to the Headmaster about it. Maybe the Wizarding world has a cure for something like that?
Though the months weren’t always smooth sailing. Many Slytherins still caused trouble here and there, especially Draco and his crew, but they were swiftly dealt with and punished by detentions and point reductions.
Portraits seem to make the best surveillance systems.
As the months came to an end, Halloween day arrived.
