Quest Idea

In a fantasy world where magical emissions heat up the climate to the point where it threatens the lives of all its inhabitants, our heroes are sent to the far north to eliminate a major source of these emissions. Once upon a time, a powerful mage was trapped deep in the northern ice after casting an immortality spell on himself. Now the sea is approaching, and its thawing is nearing, forming this cave system. He must be eliminated to prevent worse from happening. In various chambers of the dungeon, pieces of his heart, which was split to keep him in eternal sleep, are found. In the final chamber, the remains of his body are found. And this body is dreaming, and in his dreams, sensing the thawing, he summons creatures of the sea to free him. The heroes must now advance into this dungeon as the sea draws ever closer. They have received an item to destroy him once his entire body has been reassembled.

Possible twist: When the mage finally awakens, it turns out he's not an evil person. His wild magic is just so strong that he's constantly magically active and casts spells unconsciously. Will the heroes still complete their mission?

Gameplay suggestions:

- The heroes can already see the approaching sea at the entrance and repeatedly hear the sound of ice floes breaking off. It's dripping everywhere in the dungeon, and small streams of water flow everywhere. As the map progresses and they're near a crack or already standing on water, they must make appropriate rolls to avoid falling in.

- You can already place enemies or magical traps inside the dungeon to prevent the heroes from rushing through, but I would stage the enemies that come with the sea as the main threat. Create scenarios in which your heroes are forced to move into the water. Abduct other heroes into the depths, steal a piece of the mage's heart, and use strong currents to the sea to separate the heroes.

- The ice near water isn't particularly strong. A strong impact can easily cause a hero to break through. Enemies can also break through the ice and attack heroes by surprise.
