Baldur's Gate inspired battle for the grove [46x57]

Recommendations for a battle on this map:

Whether your players are defending or attacking the Grove, I would advise giving the attackers a significant advantage. The location is ideal for demonstrating why, for much of history, a very high price in life had to be paid to overpower an entrenched defender. The gate is a brutal chokepoint, the rocks are in principle climbable, but during the rounds in which you climb, you are completely helpless against all the defenders' efforts. Every shot up to the elevated position should also be rolled with disadvantage.

You could also consider equipping the attackers with multiple waves. The first wave of cheap goblins serves to deplete the attackers' resources, identify weak points, and perhaps decisively weaken the gate. Besides, it's only goblins who die, who cares? In a second wave, the attackers can then adapt to the defense. With shield walls, a battering ram carried by ogres, and fast climbing units, this second wave becomes all the more powerful. Conversely, the defenders become increasingly weaker. Casualties are replaced by untrained civilians, young and old, everyone fighting for their lives. And because all tension buildup requires three levels, there's also a powerful monster to reinforce the attackers fo the great finale (or the defenders summon something powerful if things get too one-sided).
