Quest idea

Have your players destroy a powerful insect queen in a previous quest. Now you can confront them with the consequences of their actions. These insects were vital to the local ecosystem and now the decay is beginning. Due to the loss of the large predators and decomposers, non-native fungi and diseases are spreading. Medium-sized mammals such as deer are spreading massively and destroying the bark of too many trees. A cascade begins that will destroy the entire ecosystem. Perhaps the players can still make everything right if they bring the insect queen to the heart of the forest and revive her. However, this is not the intention of some of the surrounding farmers, who wish for the death of the forest in order to expand their fields.
