Minfest URLs of map packs ready to use in Foundry VTT

I have prepared a few of my maps packages for Foundry VTT, packed them in modules and made them available to you here.

I'm currently considering creating a tier for ready to use map packs in foundry. If you would like to give feedback or other thoughts on this or on the modules that have already been completed here, I would be very happy.

Apart from that, I hope everything works (just use the URL at Foundrys modul manager and download it) and I wish you a lot of fun with the map modules! :)

Hmm strange. I have no clue why I works for some and for some not... But anyway, there is an other way. Here you can find the individual VTT Files for the maps: Here for the older jungle pack: https://www.patreon.com/posts/vtt-files-of-box-60667419 Here for the newer one: https://www.patreon.com/posts/vtt-files-for-76676722 You need a Foundry module like the battlemap importer and then load the files into foundry I hope it works and I wish you a lot of fun with your campaign! :)

to join in, your pack is not compatible with Foundry V11. Is there an update planned or can i use the jungle package ready with walls and stuff another way? We start my new campaign next week. Keep up the good work! Cheers

Ah thank you so much for the feedback! :) 1. Great, my biggest concern has been resolved for now :D 3. With the background, do you mean the thumbnail on the right of the scene overview? If so, then I know the problem and it's annoying... I already got help on the Forge Discord and solved it with a macro for a module, only it didn't work again with the next update. It just wants to load the thumbnails from my my library instead of the modul... Those thumbnails have already given me far too many hours of headaches... 4. Oops, I hadn't thought of that, but should be easy to fix if I delete them on my end. 5. My mistake, I will pay more attention to it in the future :)

Few more + and - on both: Singe map vtt file allows you to load what you need, avoid Foundry slow loading times from loading huge modules. While having to load a whole module for just one map (depending on the module size) might slow down things a lot. On the module advantages. If modules are organized per theme, it's very convienient to have similarly themed maps at hand, in case your group goes a bit further than the initial planned map. Personally I'd prefer modules (if packed in themes) for settlement type maps and outdoors landscapes, but single file for dungeons.

Initial Feedback 1. I was able to get the module installed just fine using the provided manifest URL. 2. I don't have any experience with Scene Importer so it's possible I've done some step wrong. Just as a caveat. 3. It seems like the image paths for the maps are not set up correctly. When a scene is first imported, the background is blank. The background image path appears to be set to (for example) "Jungle%20temple%20(40x60).jpg" when it needs to be "modules/jungle-map-pack-by-ataraxianbear/Jungle%20temple%20(40x60).jpg" 4. The module seems to come with a LOT of blank compendiums (see here: https://imgur.com/WQqXzbO). It seems like for a module of Scenes it probably doesn't need a Cards compendium. 5. The walls don't appear to connect in all places. Gaps in the wall like this can be problematic for line of sight (and I've had players accidentally clip through gaps like this and end up confused and outside the map). (see here for example: https://imgur.com/DFqsu3T)

So whenever new Foundry versions come out, do I have to update the respective modules? Good to know. As for the Tier, I had considered running both in parallel, but that would actually be a lot of redundant work... I'll have a few more thoughts on that. On the one hand, it's a better and easier-to-use service with the modules, but on the other hand, it's a lot more work for me and it's more complex and error prone than creating the individual VTT files (especially if I then have to make updates if they should be outdated..) I would much rather put this working time into new maps.

Oh crap, then I have no idea what I can do to make it work :(

This is what I get in the console if I trying doing that

Hmm, so I go to "Addon-Mouldes" when starting Foundry, then "install module" and then copy the link into "Manifest URL". But maybe I did something wrong during setup if that doesn't work.

My experience with map packs on forge hasn't been that great, but it's not Forge's fault, usually are the uploaders. Many packs there are outdated, with older Foundry version setups. While it says "updated on X or compatible with X" many times they are not. Feels like once they are there and uploaded, they are easy to be forgotten, since there's no feedback section there. Otherwise the service is great, easy to use and fast. As for the tier, will it replace the previous VTT ready tier? Cause functionality wise seems almost identical.

Emmanuel Giannakos

"just use the URL at Foundrys modul manager and download it" I tried this but it didn't work it seems. I'm sure I misunderstood something...

Andrea Fornasiero

I'm just one person and it's a lot of work to create these modules, but since I can also bring them to the Forge's bazaar at the same time, I thought about creating ready-made modules for Foundry in addition to the normal VTT files. Has anyone of you already made experiences with the packs of other map makers and can tell me whether I am doing everything correctly with the modules?
