Three infernal lava encounters [30x30]

Here are the first three maps of my next encounter box set in hell. I work on creating 7 Encounter and one Dungeon for this Box :)

Right now the open world is quite usefull. I'm at my 3rd "attempt" with this campaign. From my first group, starting in Red Larch, 3/4 players proofed unreliable, so we restarted with three new players from Triboar after completing Lost Mines of Phandelver to get them up to level. All was going well for a few months, but after repeatedly trying to forcefully enter the chambers of the lich residing in the monastery, and ultimately attacking him after he tried to shoo them off peacefully, they recently needed to roll new characters :D. Now they start from the south of the Dessarin Valley. None of them yet know how much time has passed between those different group, so I'm eager to see how they react to the different events that have come to pass in between.

Oh yes, I also had this experience with this module. I skipped a lot of repetitive stuff with my players and toned down the open world a bit and only then did it work for us. But then with the cool premise and atmosphere it was a cool adventure :)

It is my first DM Campaign as well. It is indeed fun but quite "open world". My inexperience this early at the campaign didn't help so my players found their way into a high level dungeon underneath a level appropriate dungeon they just cleared. Touching that ominous globe should have gottem them killed but I felt bad, this being their first ever DnD/PnP Campaign, so I just slapped them close to uncounscious to let them know this area means business and let them escape.

Nice to hear and Princes of the Apocalypse is really a cool campaign too (my first as a DM back then). I wish you a lot of fun with the maps! :) Soon there will be a few more lava encounters and a matching dungeon

These will be perfect for the later stages of my Princes of the Apocalypse encounters, when the imbalance to nature caused by the cultists becomes more and more apparend. Keep it up!
