A floating battlemap [40x40] (patreon version)

Look at these floating islands. They float and when you're down here with me, you'll float, too!

Today I experimented a bit and tried to create a flying battle map. Another expirement was to use a nice overlay that coveres the map with rain (and snow).

I would be interested in your opinion. On the one hand, whether it has succeeded in making the rocks appear floating. In addition, whether it worked to insert rain and snow without disturbing the use of the map.

I plan to create one or two (bigger) floating maps in the next few days. In addition, a new dungeon is in the making (a visualy very unspectacular cave which should have many tactical possibilities)

The snow map was just a quick experiment in preparing for this post. If you want the 5/10mb version or vtts just comment

Yes, a blur could make the whole thing visually easier to distinguish. I thought about adding one afterwards, but it would not have been on the VTT files. But while I am writing this, I have an idea how to get it into the VTT files. I'll try it on the next aerial map! About the floating effect: I hope that adding the blur will solve the visual confusion. I will experiment a little more. Thanks for the feedback! It's always usefull :)

Hey, I think you managed to create a floating effect. However, I find the details around the islands a bit confusing, they may be mistaken by water effects, giving the map a shallow water feeling, but with a confusing background. Maybe the clouds should be put clearly in the background, with the islands floating above them. Also, I think it would help if you blurred the ground and trees a bit, to help giving a sense of depth.
