This dungeon was build for an adventure around a cult of beer. Let your drunk heores slaughter or deceive hordes of drunk cultists and their monsters.
For inspiration: Here's what I'm planning for the dungeon
1000 years of beer
Our heroes travel down the foot of a mountain range and arrive at a place famous for its beer. It is made with carefully guarded ingredients in this village, but rumor has it that the water from the nearby large stream is the most important ingredient. And the clear mountain water really does have a slightly alcoholic taste.
Those who are curious can blow up the warnings about the dangerous mountain trails and follow the stream. The higher you go and the fewer other streams run into the main stream, the stronger the taste becomes. And that taste is truly heavenly. It also gets you drunk quickly. Ultimately, our adventurers follow a stream of pure beer that finally leads through narrow gorges to a cave entrance. This is where this dungeon begins in the north.
Like at a waterfall, the air is filled with small beer particles that slowly but steady get you drunk (it is enough if the droplets settle on the skin).
In my adventurer, this dungeon is inhabited by a bunch of old legendary adventurers and heroes. Those agedly people have settled here and enjoy their old age in a happy intoxication of alcohol. They keep chickens here (for the hangover breakfast) and have brought lots of supplies. Apart from that they only need beer, which is delivered in infinite quantities from the huge barrel in the middle of the tavern. This magical artifact is ancient and was found by the adventurer, who then settled here and invited friends.
These heroes also keep a few monsters roaming the dungeon (to keep curious wimps out and for the sake of the old days). These creatures are a little traumatized by the repeated beatings by the elderly. But if they discover fresh meat there could be a fight.
My adventurers first have the task of crossing the dungeon and then they have to uncover a conspiracy because the corpse of an old hero can be found in a dark corner. Death trough stabbing and alcohol poisoning at the same time. A dark figure can also be caught digging up corpses but then escapes with rogue techniques.
For a long time there has been a dispute among the elderly as to whether one should change the taste of the beer that comes out of the barrel. (It was decided to grow mushrooms, which can later be added to the glass and are also slightly hallucinogenic) But some did not just want to add something afterwards, but work directly on the barrel and further improve the already heavenly taste. Others say it can only worsen.
So it happened that one person planned to work on the barrel in secret, but was surprised and had to kill the other hero. Who was the killer?
The librarian who read about a divine taste of beer in his huge collection and wanted to drink it?
The grave digger? Was he the one surprised while digging up the bodies? Also in the open grave there are not one but two bodies. One of them did not die of severe cirrhosis like all the others.
The alchemist who grows the mushrooms and refines them in his laboratory so that they can then pour them into the beer?
The bartender and leader of the old people who rose to this rank after the surprising death of the founder of the hall?
The magician who created the beasts and mushrooms with the help of the red crystal in the south-west and who, in his hubris, wanted to continue his work on the holy barrel?
In the end, in my version, it's the magician on behalf of the bartender.
He planned to revive old times. The magician should bring the barrel to life and the old heores should come out of the cave ridding on the barrel and plunder through the country as in the old days.
When it comes to battle, the mage will call the beasts of the dungeon and a great fight will ensue in the hall of the barrel
The bartender pulls the legendary blade "Býra" , which he stole from the grave of the first leader. Every cut of this blade from which beer is dripping at any time causes the alcohol level in the target to rise significantly.
