I had some time and tried how many maps I can create in three hours.
As always: Just comment if you need a higher resolution, changes or night versions.
The next big dungeon arrives at the weekend.
The Maps with sizes:
1. Canyon [45x30]
2. River Encounter [35x30]
3. Autumn encounter [35x30]
4. Spider Encounter [30x30]
5. Waterfall Encounter [30x30]
6. Tripple Waterfall [30x30]
7. Magical Forest [30x30]
In addition, some small encounter ideas that could be used on the maps (some are ideas of others but are reworked by me)
1. For the first map I have a modification of the bridge guard from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". On the other side is a dirty human man in ruffled clothes (someone with a good nose will smell alcohol over the cliff). He calls himself the goblin of the bridge. He stops travelers and demands the answer to a question as the price to cross his bridge. The first questions are incredibly easy (e.g. what is your favorite color). Then comes an incredibly obscure difficult one and the last question is why his wife no longer loves him. Then he breaks down crying.
2. PETAF: While you are roaming the area, a large beast appears and acts very threatening to travelers (e.g. an owl bear with children). Before things can escalate the PETAF (Patrol of enthusiastic tactful animal friends) appears. They stun the beast and take samples to make vaccinations to protect the animals from a disease.
(Twist: The leader of the group makes a lot of money selling the blood samples)
3. Smart goblins: 60 feet in front of the travelers on the street stands a single little goblin who demands "Walubles o life!". Who gives him money or a lot of food will be rewarded. If he is attacked he withdraws. Whoever follows him threatens to run into an almost invisible wire that was stretched between two trees at head height. You can also hear a large group of goblins fleeing in the bushes.
The goblins return in the night. They brought a stone with them, which suppresses all noises within 30 feet. They throw the rock into the camp and try to overpower the guard before the alarm goes off and then steal whatever possible.
In the event of a fight, they have large slingshots close by, which shoots goblins. They float over the camp with self-made gliders and drop stones. But at some point they also sink towards the ground.
Feel free to share own encounter ideas. Maybe we'll get a nice little collection together!
