They will take the request at face value and apply their better judgement to fill out any gray areas... Usually this is a successful practice, and every member ends up happy with their results (at least by the end of it they're enjoying themselves).
However, sometimes things get lost in translation. Sometimes things are misunderstood. Sometimes the phrase '...Widowmaker's my pet..." can be misunderstood as '...Widowmaker's pet...' and none can be really held at fault. Thankfully, our dear subject Nyx seems to be a good sport about the matter and is happily enjoying her new role.
Besides, to err is human shouldn't just apply to mortals...
