While it's true the serum she developed allowed her to breathe freely underwater, she realized too late a few mistakes she may have made by using Jellyfish DNA. Now her skin is semi-transparent and while she can exist indefinitely underwater, her mobility is heavily impeded by ocean waves and currents. She is trying to develop an antidote to her predicament, however being confined to oceanic space is stalling her testing process. It's hard to keep liquids in vials while submerged...
