A... Willing Valentine...

This illustration is a early days one I made and I never realised it, because it was supposed to come with a story. Things came up and the story had to be postponed, so I've decided I would at least share it here!
And a little treat is... I'm making a remaster of this pic, you can see its early stages in the sketches I dumped the other day!

Oh, it's lovely! The stern. matronly ladies carrying on with their duties, the not-so-willing lady (but who cares what she wants, this is the Middle Ages), the giddy prince. The stylish (and quite serviceable) gag. I can hear the conversation: "MMMPH, MPRMRPPH!" "Oh hush now, my lady, and keep still! Such theatrics are not becoming of a fair maiden! Oh dear, I believe we shall require more rope or we'll never be finished at this pace!"
