Bailed on, 300 miles from home
Added 2020-07-19 15:46:44 +0000 UTCA glimpse into what all this is like.... I planned a shoot today with someone in Rhode Island (300 miles from home) and I just arrived on location, only to get a message from her saying she has a family emergency and can’t come.
Thankfully she paid what she could of the security deposit AND I got a paid shoot yesterday in Connecticut. So that helps. (And of course I hope her family is okay.)
But alas, it was for nothing that a 3-hr drive home turned into 7 hours.

It's a just complaint. If it weren't for angel investors like you, the number of people who don't honor their word would ultimately make my business unsustainable. After all, I didn't "make money that day"; I had the gas expense covered and that's it. No compensation for my time, and no income. Most people simply can't afford a deposit that covers both my travel expense (which in this case was $40 in gas and $32 in tolls) AND my needed daily wage, so without my supporters, I wouldn't be able to continue doing what I do.
