February State of the Games

Hey there, pervs, let's talk about saucy games.

I think I can confidently say that Leaderboard is officially my new Big Game.  I'm going full steam ahead with expansions here.  In the short term I plan to focus on some procedurally-generated encounters for night life and weekend play, which should afford some replayability and interesting wrinkles to your Leaderboard scores.  Once that's in place, I'll shift to scripted character drama and live-in subs&doms.  I have a small boatload of bodymods that are more elaborate than just changing your look and will require tie-ins to game mechanics, and you can expect those sprinkled in along with the bigger stuff.  I'll also be writing some short encounters for commute and at the workplace, to flesh things out.

On the other hand, Marooned on Teayeph VI will also be seeing some development.  I find that I work best when I have a "narrative" project along with a "gamey" project, and Teayeph VI will fit the latter category nicely.  While I expect this one will see less frequent expansions, it will still see some steady work--basically when I don't want to write dynamic text.  First up will be installing those new art assets that I posted last month, as well as some gameplay elements.  Longer-term projects include introducing the Master and the Broodmother, and developing out the make-path to victory and getting off the planet.  (And then we'll worry about victory conditions that don't involve leaving the planet).

While the general consensus a while back was less than fervent enthusiasm for Corruption Conquest, a few of you have reached out via DM that you'd like to see more saucy card-based world corruption.  I do have a couple ideas for how to make the game a little more engaging, and I'm toying with the idea of using my lackluster art skills to illustrate the cards myself, probably as an alternate card set.  This game will probably remain a very tertiary priority, but it might rear its head in the coming months.

Every few weeks I glance longingly at Ensign Xenofucker, because I absolutely love the premise and setting laid out for it.  However, until I have some brainstorm for how to make its core minigame entertaining, I think it's going to stay on the shelf.

In case you were wondering, no, Five Alarm there has nothing to do with any of my games.  They're just fun art.

I think that's everything worthy of reporting, but if you've got any questions or requests or comments, I'd love to hear from you.  Making these kinds of games can be weirdly lonely, and it's always nice to chat with folks who enjoy saucy nonsense almost as much as I do.

Caught a bug in 0.0.7 where, if you sleep through all of Sunday, the laundry drones don't trigger. It's fixed now, so you can sleep through Sunday and wake up to freshly laundered clothes!

I'm hoping that once the Club is in place (and boy is it a monster of code), the game will be at that weirdly comfortable unfinished-but-playable stage that all of my favorite big games have maintained for most of their development history. Then it will just be a matter of accreting content and expanding options.

Even while it's unfinished, Leaderboard is looking pretty great. Very much looking forward to seeing the new bodymods you have planned!

I set two different outfits, with only the shoes and ear-wear the same, and was switching between them each day, but they were just sitting there, marked 'soiled'. You don't suppose that keeping the shoes and ear-wear the same between the saved outfits might have caused it?

Thanks for the bug report, Connor, I'll look into it. (One minor note: the laundry drones aren't supposed to launder the clothes you're wearing, because... that doesn't make any sense. Everything else (besides shoes) should be laundered, though.)

Leader board seems to have a bug. The rent-a-drones aren't doing the laundry that they're being paid to do.
