I think of it as a friends-com, at least at this stage of the show. Not going into further details to avoid spoilers, but really it feels distinct despite purposefully invoking so many romcom tropes.

I do agree that it'd be nice to get some non-highschool romance, but I don't see a show like Golden Time or A Sign of Affection winning a poll, even if the girls would enjoy it.
