Meanwhile, I've heard lots of people rave about many of the other shows on this poll (including shows I don't care for). To be honest, I actually dropped Wistoria after about 4 or 5 episodes because it felt really average. I guess it's more popular than I realized?

I hope they'll consider trying that sometime. It would give them a chance to navigate the ship in a direction while still letting us pick the destination.

I myself generally prefer such stories, but to some extent, I don't see the React Pack folks as being particularly interested in discussing complex societal commentary. I'd say there's room to argue that such shows would not make for very interesting reactions on their behalf. Even though I love some of those shows. @s4ean It seems you're in it purely for escapism. Nothing wrong with that. As another 30+ year old, I prefer series that reflect our world meaningfully, and I would add that most of the shows you've listed are still incorporating "real world drama" - perhaps it's just not the flavor of drama you're avoiding, so you don't see them as such.

As a 38 year old myself, I've grown tired of watching media that relates to real world societal issues, and prefer fantasy myself, granted I think AoT and Erased are great, as are Heavenly Delusion and shows like Bunny Girl Senpai. I can appreciate good writing, but the reminder of real world depressing drama isn't something I seek out for entertainment anymore. I also watch reactions more for their genuine reaction, and enjoyment of good writing and thrilling moments, as opposed to opinions and debates. But I'm also a person that hates listening to "experts" give their opinions on the news, just deliver the facts, lol.

2025-02-23 21:21:43 +0000 UTC@Rafael Yes, I prefer seinen and prefer ones with a well written and matured story such as Planetes, Steins;Gate, or Orb; I gravitate towards story that is emotional, and impactful, or that explores societal issues such as sexism (rather than, for example, depicting violence against women with no real purpose which is something they've been watching on occasionally).

I love Mushoku Tensei, I really do, got the LN but, there were some/many scenes that were COMPLETELY inappropriate. I understand it's his chara and he grows, I get that and I love that but, the girls will DEF be kind of uncomfortable watching.

Not sure what happen to the days when reaction channels were reacting to anime such as AoT or Vinland Saga, or at least something new and refreshing.

I know I'd love to see reactions to it and others who suggested would too, but whether due to recency bias or mainstream preferences, I've accepted some of my faves like Land of the Lustrous, Dorohedoro or even Asobi Asobase will never win any polls. This is my one time venting. My one negative comment is that if you almost always manage your reacts by voting, I would imagine you will largely keep growing your audience under the same vibes. People with similar tastes will keep seeing your current reacts, joining and voting for other things they enjoy that fit alongside those. They will win, because your current voting is already like that. Others like me who are waiting for something different to make it thru polls, will tire and drop out eventually. The impact on you is mostly that you'll increasingly be asked to react to shows within the same sphere of popularity. That's not to say you'll only be asked to watch isekai or fantasies or etc, almost everyone enjoys more than one genre. But it can get a little stale. At the end of the day, the problem's probably on my side for still being here waiting for those shows instead of moving on.

It's an intellectually stimulating story about the clash between science and the Church, and there are interesting or likable characters whether it be a person with the same archetype from Vinland Saga, or, what I think is a well-written female character.
