IIRC: Reinhard is essentially immortal, he could die from anything once but afterwards becomes immune. Only way to get rid of him would be to throw him off the edge of the world (but he can fly). His biggest weakness is his intellect, that’s why he needs Subaru to figure out greeds shtick.

Couple things - when Otto and Felt are talking to Gluttony - Lye - when he starts going on about wanting to find Subaru, he is actually talking in the mannerisms of Rem - who he devoured…do with that as you will. Likewise, you may notice Julius has a certain reaction when talking to the other Gluttony - Roy - which, just keep that in the back of your mind… Also, Reinhard is *so* loved by the world, that his ‘Divine Protection of the Phoenix’ - usually a one time use protection - is given to him again after using it…and again, and again, and again, etc etc, effectively making him unkillable… In case you were wondering - but I believe the OVA showed it iirc - but Subaru is a massive Astronomy/Astrology fan - hence why he’s able to put the pieces together regarding Sin Archbishops and their connection to Stars. It is shown a bit more in the novel, so if you felt it came out of the blue, it’s just not having enough time to show his knowledge off in the anime. More will be explained about Regulus’ authority in later episodes I believe, so questions will be answered then - but I hope you’ve been enjoying the show! Fun facts episode 10 alone took over a year to animate, which, I think the quality of the animation in that episode showcases the love the animators and studio have for this series, which is great to see.

2025-02-22 15:16:53 +0000 UTCSubaru said regulus power is to stop time for his body. Basically his body is “paused” so it can’t change, it can’t get hurt or wet or dirty. His heart is not beating because his body is paused. Subaru and Emilia noticed during the fight that he wasn’t getting wet even after falling in the water, and Subaru makes the connection because the Regulus star is a star “stuck” in the sky, while other stars move constantly Regulus appears to be always in the same spot.
