GTS Summoner Ch 7: Grasped By The Calamity!

This Day Just Keeps Getting Worse

I gritted my teeth as I stumbled through the wreckage of the hospital, my arms burning, my leg screaming after I'd scraped it against a jagged piece of debris.

"Hold on, Lena," I muttered, shifting my sister's unconscious body in my arms. I was already drenched in sweat, my muscles felt like they were tearing apart, and the dust in the air wasn't doing my lungs any favors.

It was bad.

The whole hospital was coming down around me, walls crumbling, ceilings caving in, the distant echoes of collapsing floors making it painfully clear that this place wouldn't be standing much longer. I needed to get out—now.

Dodging another falling ceiling panel, I finally spotted a massive hole in the side of the building. Probably from an explosion. Or a misplaced giant sword strike. At this point, who even knew?

I sprinted toward it, ignoring the fire in my legs, ignoring the stabbing pain in my ribs, ignoring everything except getting Lena out of here.

And then, after what felt like an eternity of running through hell, I was out.

Fresh air hit my face like a slap.

And for one glorious second, I thought maybe—just maybe—I had caught a break.

Then I looked up.

And immediately regretted every life decision I'd ever made.

Because she was there.

The Titan Knight.

And she was even bigger.

I blinked. Stared. Blinked again.

"...What the hell."

Before, she had been massive—towering over buildings, stomping through streets like some kind of medieval kaiju. But now? Now she was easily twice that size. Maybe more.

I had no idea how she kept getting bigger, but I was starting to think the answer didn't matter. Because no matter how big she was now, it was clear that she wasn't done growing.

Her golden sword hummed with energy as she walked, her silver armor gleaming despite the dust-filled air. Each footstep sent deep tremors through the ruined city, her presence alone enough to make the earth quake.

And worst of all?

She was looking right at me.

I swallowed hard.

This was bad.

I mean, this whole day had been bad—but this was a new level of terrible.

She wasn't just glancing around randomly. No, this was direct eye contact. Like she had picked me out from the sea of chaos and decided, yeah, I'll focus on that guy.

Which, you know, horrible.

I took a shaky step back, trying to ignore the fact that my whole body was trembling. My brain was throwing out survival plans left and right, but none of them seemed remotely good.

Because let's be real—what the hell was I supposed to do against that?

Reason with her? Doubtful.

Outrun her? Yeah, no.

Fight her? Hilarious.

The only thing I could do was try not to die.

And judging by the way she was still staring, that was looking less and less likely.

The Titan Knight stood amidst the devastation, her massive silver-clad form looming over the ruins like an omen of death. Her golden sword, nearly humming with power, rested heavily in her grip, its tip carving shallow lines into the crumbling pavement below.

But her focus wasn't on the city she had shattered.

It wasn't on the jets streaking across the sky, their missiles colliding against her armor in futile defiance.

It was on him.

A small, glowing figure amid the wreckage at her feet. A man. Holding onto an even smaller woman.

And for a reason she could not explain, rage burned through her veins at the sight.

Her grip on the hilt of her sword tightened until the leather-bound handle groaned beneath her fingers. A deep growl rumbled in her throat, a sound like distant thunder rolling through the city's remains.

Why?

Why did the sight of this tiny man, struggling to carry another, fill her with such unexplainable fury?

Why did it twist in her chest like a blade, gnawing at something primal within her?

Her red-lit eyes narrowed.

It didn't matter.

Whatever this strange anger was, she would quell it the only way she knew how.

By erasing it.

With a single motion, she raised her sword high, its golden glow intensifying as she prepared to bring it down in one decisive, world-ending swing.

The man must have sensed what was coming, because he ran.

A pathetic, desperate sprint to the side, clutching the unconscious woman as if his tiny legs could somehow outrun death itself.

But his effort was meaningless.

With a mighty swing, her sword cut through the air, its sheer force alone creating a shockwave that shattered nearby windows and sent debris spiraling into the sky.

Then—impact.

The hospital, already hanging on by a thread, detonated into a storm of rubble and dust, chunks of concrete and steel launching high into the air. The ground beneath it split apart, a deep trench carving through the earth where her blade had struck.

The sound of the destruction was deafening. A roar of chaos and ruin that swallowed everything else.

She stood before the wreckage, her sword still humming in her grip, black smoke curling into the sky like the last breath of a dying beast.

It should have been satisfying.

But it wasn't.

Because he wasn't dead.

Through the haze of smoke and dust, her glowing eyes locked onto movement.

The man. Still alive.

And her fury ignited.

With a low, guttural growl, she moved.

The earth quaked beneath her as she bent down, reaching forward with her massive hand.

The man saw it coming—he turned, eyes wide, and with a last-second burst of desperation, he threw the woman he had been carrying to the side, ensuring her safety before her massive fingers wrapped around him.

His body fit snugly in her grip, small and fragile, the warmth of his frantic struggles barely registering against her palm.

Slowly, she lifted him up to her face, her crimson gaze locked onto him with a hatred she couldn't explain.

She tightened her grip ever so slightly—not enough to crush him yet, but enough to make him feel the weight of his insignificance.

And then, with a voice that shook the very air, she spoke.

"I will kill you now."
