Sam needs to make a “I’ve got goosebumps” t shirt lol But these episodes were really dark and I’m excited to see a focus on ruby and her trauma

wheeein

ruby never mentioned who was her crush

ALex alex

i may be confused but i think i remember they said the age of the father in season 1

ALex alex

the husband could have discovered that the child was not his at any age

ALex alex

Glad you watched season 2, thanks for the reaction. Dark Ruby is best!

BloodMoonGentleWind

After these recent developments. S3 is going to be very interesting, I feel so bad that Ruby lost her spark. I hope she could get it back. Akane continues to show why she is my favorite.

Hope so 'cause I did not like the controversy at all. 🤞

Dani is Genius..

Oh you guys going to Japan? Have a fun trip! I'm going in a couple months too, don't wanna miss the Cherry Blossom season this year.

It was pretty much assumed she wouldn’t live that long, so it was definitly more like a way of giving hope to her for sure. I know, it sounds weird, but it would be cruel to sit and explain this child that she should wait untill adulthood to find love with another adult around her age when she herself knows she wasn’t likely to even see adulthood to begin with.

Damn, props to Dani, finally a reactor thinking about the crazy implications of daddy being around middle school age when Aqua and Ruby were born while also being the father of Himekawa who is 3-4 years older than those 2 💀 Once again, thanks for the reactions girls! This season was really good in terms of story and animation. I hope to see you girls react to season 3 as well! 😁😁

I think when they showed the news report of the double suicide, they showed pictures of both the parents, so definitely of legal age for both cuz that wudve been a bigg scandal

mongoh

If I were Akane, the only thing I'd question is how would Ruby have a crush on someone who disappeared 16 years ago when Ruby is 16. She'd have to be a newborn baby. That's not physically possible with normal logic so Akane would be questioning that logic after hearing her confess those feelings

Ellijah Brown

My parents have a 10 year age gap

thanks for watching and suggesting it! I was very surprised with the dark turn this took at the end, sad for Ruby but very intriguing -Morgan

nice Spike sweater Dani, I’ll get those Bebop reactions one day😤

Non-manga reader but I think the reveal of the father was very well done. From the beginning of the show we kinda assume that Aqua/Ruby's father was older than Ai b/c sadly there are many cases of people in positions of power taking advantage of talent. The reveal of the father's age is done so quick with just the one line but once you start to think about it like Dani brought up it really puts an even darker spin on it. I think her take is spot on. Middle school typically goes to around age 15 so he was probably about a year younger than Ai. Himekawa is 3 years older so the father was probably at "most" 12 when he was born and even younger when conceived. I'm also pretty sure they pointed out that Himekawa's parents were married at the time they had him which is crazy.

Yeah its like "You better not die or ima kill you" vibe. It wasnt literal and more like a prayer that she would somehow beat this thing.

Danny

I may be coping a bit, but I believe Ruby/Sarina was under 16 when she died. I believe Aqua/Dr was saying the after you're 16 thing to give her hope/strength to live longer.

Devon O'Chinnigan

The mom of the half-brother could have been around 13 or 14 too; it doesn’t necessarily had to be abuse involved with Aqua’s dad. they only mentioned that the husband commited suicide, maybe because he larned that the kid wasnt his

ALex alex

And the season ends with the birth of Dark Ruby. I loved this adaptation. The woman that the father kills at the end is indeed not someone we've seen before. Interestingly, that scene, and another short cut from the ending, appear further in the manga than would probably be covered in season 3, and makes me wonder if they're going to alter the pacing/story going forward. Given the controversy around the final arc of the manga, might not be a bad idea... Thanks for finally getting to this show, you had a great series of double drops!
