I mean I'd like to be wrong but I don't see how he survived. It was unstable, he said goodbye and he poofed away. When ekko got teleported we see two versions of ekko. If Heimer is alive we should at least be seeing the AU Heimer where he got poofed.

The reason things were so great in the time-line Ekko was in, is because Vi's death was a wake up call for everyone, not because Hextech didn't exist. Vander and Silco promised the girls' mom that they would make things work. Vi's death was enough to help them mend their relationship. Hiemerdinger being in that time-line for 3 years allowed him to use his brilliance to help the under city.

My favorite ep of the series. Some things people pointed out online: -a blue rose means unrequited love, and if you look at the rose closely you can see both ekko & powder's faces in it -all 3 were sent to the world they needed to grow, ekko was sent to a positive world bc he was too focused on the negatives of zaun and jayce was the opposite with hextec. And heimer was willing to abandon jayce & let viktor die but now he sacrifices himself to save a student. -Jayce had to climb out of the underground into topside with a messed up leg like how Viktor had to figuratively

Hextech isn’t the issue, it’s magic, and even then it isn’t magic at fault, it’s just who wields the magic/hextech/shimmer/weapons/anything. Hextech is a way to use magic but through technology. Heimerdinger saw MAGIC be used in the wrong way which is why he was scared when they said they wanted to create magic through technology, aka Hextech, and allow everyone to be able to use it because he was scared it could fall to the wrong hands. It all depends how people use it and what people want to do with it. They started wanting to turn hextech into full on magic. Magic can do multiple things at once, forever evolving basically. They basically tried to make hextech become forever evolving as well so it can do more than just one task at a time. They even tried involving life and combining it with hextech. Hextech as a single use creation(the hextech gauntlets grant super human strength, the hextech laser hand grants u the ability to use a laser, the hextech Z-Drive that Ekko just created allows him to go in a time loop, etc..), all lf those things are safe as long as no psychotic maniac gets their hands on it. It’s just like how Shimmer can do so many different things like saving someone from near death, grant super speed, grant super strength, super healing, but can also do bad things if some creates a bad Shimmer instead of a perfected one like what Singed has now. There is good shimmer and bad shimmer, there is good hextech and bad hextech. It all just depends who wields it

funny enough i just commented on the Jayce thing. My thought is Heimerdinger said "I've done wonderful things in this world" meaning he changes his actions. Imo he might have never found Viktor, never bringing him to Piltover and so Viktor was never there to stop Jayce from jumping from the building.

to clarify your questions in the vid Heimerdinger sacrificed himself because the machine was breaking while trying to send them back to the right world. He essentially was keeping the machine running long enough to send ekko home. Powder has the hexgems because in this world she recognized thats what caused the explosion (killing Vi) so she's kept them hidden as a "this is too dangerous for the world", so hextech wasnt invented. Viktor probably didnt save Jace in this world because Heimerdinger said "I've done wonderful things in this world." my guess is Viktor wasn't there to save Jace because Heimerdinger never found Viktor. In the original world, Heimerdinger is the one who found Viktor and brought him to the academy. In this world, Heimerdinger said he did things differently

In the "good world", the death of Vi solidified Jayce's invention as dangerous without question so Hextech was destroyed, Jayce's fate could only be one of these: 1. He still went through trial but instead of getting expelled from the academy, he probably was banished from Piltover as the council originally wanted to, Jayce being all alone, with no future, he ends his own life. Or 2. He wasn't taken to a trial, he was straight up arrested on the spot and thrown in jail, he either still is in prison or he died in there.

Ekko x Powder was such a lovely couple, she so sweet and loving. It would have be super easy and logical for him to stay in this timeline with his lady who never fell to the dark side and where Benzo and the others were living pleasantly, and the mural he painted in Vi’s image was such so touching and heartwarming. Yet he went back to his own chaotic world to try help and save it. Dani’s is correct, Ekko really is admirable. He is a true hero.

This episode was one of the best of the whole series. It both warmed and broke my heart, Timebomb what could’ve have been, what should’ve have been . The Dance scene was so gorgeous, the music and the way they animated it just 🥹🥹🥹😩😩😩🥰🥰🥰 it gave the fuzzies big time.
