2024-11-22 08:34:28 +0000 UTCThe people disappointed about the announcement weren’t mad this was being made into a movie. They were mad that the entire rest of the series is being made into 2 movies. There just isn’t enough time in 2 movies to cover the rest of the manga without cutting out huge chunks. Like this movie was around 30 chapters and it even cut out moments. The next movie will have to cover around 70 chapters to cover the rest of the manga. Which just isn’t possible. That’s why everyone was pissed at the movies announcement.

And you never know, maybe they'll milk the hell out of this movie and the next Haikyuu movie by splicing them into a season of episodes with "never before seen moments" like DragonBall Super and Demon Slayer did with their movies.

Haikyuu is such a feel good and endearing series, that makes care and like numerous characters, which not an easy feat to achieve. This film was really good and fun.

2024-11-22 01:35:18 +0000 UTCI loved the movie and it’s my favourite match in the entire manga. It hit the feels perfectly. Though I’m sad they cut some really great moments, like Kenma watching Karasuno’s first nationals game and seeing them struggle against the underhand serve, so he told their pinch server to use that serve. Or when Kenma and Lev jump up for a block near the end when it goes first person in the movie, in the manga Lev actually bumped into him and knocked Kenma onto the floor and Lev checks if he is okay and Kenma shouts back “You idiot, the ball hasn’t hit the floor” which shocks everyone. Also a big moment I’m annoyed they left out was from their backstory. In the manga the whole backstory starts by Kenma saying “I bet no one would believe that Kuroo used to be worse than me” and then we see that when they were kids, Kuroo was way more shy and awkward than Kenma. And it was Kenma supporting him by going to volleyball with him that finally got Kuroo out of his shell. Kuroo basically didn’t talk at all even to Kenma. They would just silently play video games until Kenma asked him if there is anything else he wants to do, then Kuroo introduces him to volleyball. So sad we didn’t get that cuteness animated.
