I think one of the things ive come to love about Dandadan, is that it takes time to explore these Ghosts, and Yokai, and many of their back stories, are stories of deep trauma, and some truly horrific stuff, but there's also a layer of nuance, that helps you humanise these characters, such as Turbo Granny and the would of the lost girls she went to comfort and protect, and Acrobaitc Silky and Aira...

But context clues show that when Aira's (I'm assuming her name was Aira like the pink-haired girl) mother was a sex worker, she was giving money away for some reason. I guess that she owed money to some yakuza or loan sharks. The guys who attacked them wore suits with expensive watches and chains. So when they attacked, they took whatever money they found and took the daughter as collateral. So she was likely trafficked and died. So when Aira hugs Silky, she says that she wants them to live in a better world elsewhere. This shit was really sad and this show is goated so far

I'm currently reading the manga, and as goofy as the show is, there isn't anything frustrating in terms of writing, very well written, there are cliche tropes but it's written very well.

2024-11-16 22:15:23 +0000 UTCThe scene when Acro-Silky was doing ballet against the starry backdrop was one of the most tragic and gorgeous sequences I've seen in any show recently rather it be live action or anime. This episode was damn fantastic, be so very sad and painful.

But we mostly got a gorgeous tragic tale about motherhood, loss, and regret. This is the episode that changes the series from something really good to something truly great.
