This show may seem like a goofy comedy full of fan service at first but it does have some sweet moments especially in later seasons. Also I would skip the OVA, personally I hated the OVA, it kinda ruins Kazuma's character, it also ruins a certain character's introduction plus it's not canon to the actual show.

I think the gimmick with the crimson magic clan is that they all have names that are cutsie nickname versions of Japanese names or are just really weird. Adding a "n" to the end of Megumi is basically making it the cutsie nickname version that someone might go by among certain friends. I think she said her mothers name was Yuiyui. Yui is a totally normal name, so Yuiyui sounds like a strange nickname.

Some are goofy japanese nicknames they use while others are just wacky weird names nobody would actually name their child. Megumin is probably the most normal name so far cause her name is just the nickname version of the name Megumi. Just adding the N at the end makes it weird if u say it out loud but not as much as other names from her Demon clan 😂
