He knows everything they are doing is wrong and despises his own race, the Alba. He follows protocol in order to stay in command because he knows any other Alba would do much worse. Instead of making the conditions worse he is trying his best to keep it as is and not make it worse. He has higher ups above him so if he tries to do anything like Lena does, he would be removed. He is just trying to watch over Lena and support her as much as he can. He hits her with the 100% facts consistently in order to keep that resolve that Lena has at full strength. He was making sure she is ready to face any issues that would arise from her actions and then he proceeds to say that he will defend her. The uncle never planned to stop Lena, he knows that she is a strong individual and just wanted to be sure she continued to be that same strong individual with the strong passion to change the country. Uncle fully supports Lena and believes that she can change the republic

2024-09-10 18:43:53 +0000 UTCUncle does nothing but spit facts. He knows the Alba are despicable, that the 86 are marginalized and essentially being genocided. If the 86 did just bail and let the Alba get wiped out, he'd have no problem with it, in fact he thinks it's what SHOULD happen. When he says "if we're lucky, it'll just be a massacre", he's leaving the rape and pillaging part out, which is unfortunately way too common in these types of situations. Despite all that, he still walks his ass to the front lines with a rifle to buy Lena time so that her idealist dream gets one last chance of becoming the new reality instead of the corrupt system he's been stuck in for a decade.

Lena is such a great MC, in a city where majority of people hate the 86, she managed to recruit FIVE Albas to fight for her cause and even changing the mind of two, her Uncle and Annette.

2024-09-10 14:42:47 +0000 UTCI’m sure it was said but Shin never lost his head those marks are scars from his brother choking him, in the light novel Rei used chains which obviously would cause scarring they toned it down for the anime he just thinks his near death experience connected his family’s power to the dead in the legion Shin’s family bloodline just has powers like Frederica’s bloodline, psychic powers exist in this world
