The manga doesn't out right and say anything either, they just drop hints and it's literally up to the audience to figure it out, so me explaining these things isn't spoiling anything. By this episode you should've at least figured out that the school and Maru and Kiruko's adventure are in separate timelines, past and present, if they won't look into this show, then it will be difficult to put any of these pieces together just by watching the anime, the Mimihime and Shiro thing wasn't even truly revealed in this anime since a lot of other reactors didn't think anything of that button scene later and people had to tell them. Totori, Kuku, Taka, Anzu, the two girls literally don't get explained because they're minor hints. This story doesn't do the whole anime explaining, it is pure "show, don't tell." Plus I'm pretty sure they've already finished the season and these are scheduled uploads. And since no season 2 is coming and they're probably not gonna read the manga, I might as well say the things that the anime pretty much already explains just without using words, plus there are two major spoilers I could've said here but I didn't because they might be pretty big reveals but they might not even figure those out unless they look into it.

2024-09-05 16:08:15 +0000 UTCNow that we know that the school was in the past, and the journey with Maru and Kiruko is the present. The kids are Man Eaters, they don't have man eater parts, they are literally the monsters we see throughout the show. The anime never ups and says it and seems like it's not gonna have a season 2 so I will say it. All the monsters we've seen, each of them are kids we see in the school. Taka, the athletic one is the bird, the first monster we see. Kuku, the frog girl, is the fish with the arms, hence the crawling abilities. The Hiruko in the garage, the one that made Kiruko hallucinate IS Ohma with the shades. Shiro, the tall boy with the white bowl cut and Mimihime are people we already met back in episode 8, they were Dr Usami and Miss Hoshio, that's why Mimihime said in the first episode, that she dreamt about two people who came and "saved" her from becoming a Hiruko and that one of those people had Tokio's face. The King of the Hotels, Totori, had a Hiruko core in her back in episode 6, she is the daughter of Anzu, the black haired girl who looks just like Totori, we see her here at the pool, we also saw her a couple of episodes ago where she was dancing at the school. The two girls who always kiss each other are the two women who had a child with Juichi in episode 9, we saw a glimpse of the two women, they had the same coloured hair as the two girls, golden brown and black hair, one of those girls became the freezing spider, which is also why Jugo, Juichi's son has freezing abilities like that Hiruko. Miruka and the Doc are only mysterious ones, Miruka is definitely one of the people in the school as she was the one who gave Kiruko her Kiru-Beam, and why she knows about Maru's touch, The Doc's name is hidden for a reason so I assume it's somebody that's already been named in the show.

Mina was giving instructions to the technicians, and they said they didn’t know what they were building. And the ladies standing at the window of the pool room mentioned that they didn’t know why all the kids were assembling in the pool room, which was instructed by the robots.
