I'm paraphrasing, but he said "There's the curious incident with the guard dog in the night". The detective responded "The dog didn't make a the slightest peep". Sherlock then said "That... IS the incident". Abnormal silence (nothing) when you expect noise is itself "something". That's the logic with Yuga and him not speaking up with genuine emotion and feeling when it was the normal reaction for that moment.
