Wow...obviously the taster swapped the food. That's why she was there si Maomao could let her know that Lishu can't eat certain food. They could kill her. She saved her own life by doing so though. Unlike Maomao, she doesn't have a tolorance to poison. Whoever wanted Lishu dead really didn't think things through. That soup would never had gotten to her

The taster switched the dishes being served to the two concubines, in an attempt to bully Lishu, inadvertently saving herself and Lishu by giving the poison to Maomao, the experienced poison detector. My understanding is that the taster wasn’t trying to hurt Lishu and wasn’t related to the poisoner at all, but was just trying to do some “harmless” bullying

It just means we have less clues then we thought we did. Someone else is trying to poison Lady Lishu and perhaps take advantage of the fact that her ladies in waiting bully her about being "picky". They just didn't account for the fact that in order to bully her they would swap the "meal sets" of Lady Lishu and Gyokuyou in order to give Lady Lishu the "blue back" which she is allergic to and not the jellyfish she was supposed to get.

2024-05-25 19:46:22 +0000 UTCLady Lishu is in a pretty tough situation. Her ladies-in-waiting bully her but she’s too young and naive to see it. At the garden party, they dressed her in clothing which didn’t match theirs. The food taster swapped the food to something she knew Lishu didn’t like.
