I think he’s afraid of dragging her into his life while she’s on a path towards becoming a physician. This is definitely trauma and abandonment issues after losing his brother. So, he’s hyper fixating on his restaurant’s success instead.

2024-05-19 18:49:35 +0000 UTCI think Ebra has some bad history with war. He mentions he's from Somalia in season 1 and could be a refugee. Probably has some trauma that he can't get over yet, which is why a uniform kinda triggers him.
