2025-07-07 00:00:27 +0000 UTCBack to former greatness. Definitely by far the best new gen file so far. BY FAR. DPE once again proving why they are one of the best in the genre. Its been a while since a Mindgasm file could snatch the crown off of the higher tiered SG and Twin Files, last this happened was during the extravaganza of the last months of last year. This file is simply the best produced file from DPE, no questions asked. This fixed what i have critiqued about the previous files. Mainly the sound effects are now beautifully mixed with each sound being crystal clear again, which does a lot for audio clarity. Gone is the dissonance from looping similar sounding sounds that barely pass through the wall of noise. I would say this is the first of the new gen era files that was produced and executed to near perfection, just on how this sounds on good equipment absolutely shows the amount of work that went in to it. This mix is so well done that its similar to listening to classical music on good quality headphones, where every instrument is distinct and can be differentiated even though the whole orchestra is playing. This files mix achieves a similar thing with its sound effects. Which is exactly the clarity the last few new gen files just didn’t have. The new style is maturing, and no longer a prove of concept. With the style now being back on the right track, i expect greatness from the higher tier files. I can’t say this enough, the amount of skill in sound design required to pull a file like this off, is nothing short of full blown professional music production. I highly recommend, very very highly recommend, to not waste this audio on DT770 DT990 or similar cans. and going for neutral Headphones. HD600. Anything below that, or not a neutral curve will not be able to give this file justice. Because this is not music, which is carried by rhythm and melody. Compared to neutral HD600 I would say the DT Pro (any of them) Will loose out on at least a third if not more sound, which will not be perceived. This is much more compared to music, where it’s about 5 to 10% this is why I confidently say, the recommended DT Series headphones are not good enough for this level of audio work. Highly recommend upgrading to better gear, especially considering that in the long run, this file, which i currently consider DPE’s Magnum Opus, will become the new baseline.
