Game Poll For Game Stuff

Hello everyone!

It's poll time. This poll is a bit different from others, mostly because it's less about a specific thing that I'm going to put in the game and more about future features and other such things that I'm planning to include in my upcoming games, which are including but not limited to A Tiny Furry In A Huge World (but in GameMaker not Quest) and A Tiny Furry On A Huge Quest. Am I working on something other than that? Well, maybe, I did talk about Macroville 2 some time ago... but let's not get ahead of myself, because there are too many irons in the fire right now anyways.

So! In this poll, I am going to run through five features, or, things that I have been thinking I'd like to see more of in my games lately. It's a multiple choice poll, and I encourage you to make use of that! Pick the options that sound the most appealing to you. This way, when I have the ultimate vote count, I'll be able to see what people are most interested in and keep that in mind when it comes to development. Both of my big ongoing projects right now are hitting the programming the systems are done so it's time to make the content stage so this feels like a good opportunity to gauge interest in various mechanics and game features and other such things that people might be interested in.

I've selected five things that are somewhat vague in nature because I think that this will work best in a poll! However, if you have any ideas on what you'd like to see in my upcoming games - specifically when it comes to features, or how things might work, or stuff you'd like to see - then please drop a comment! I try to keep all the feedback I get in mind because... you know... it leads to the best possible game. Or something like that.

Anyway! It's poll time. Here's a run through of the five options! Remember, you can vote for as many as you like!

Minigames

Minigames are like games within games. Digital appetizers or tiny rollercoasters or... actually, this analogy is a bit silly.

We all know what a minigame is, right? My games haven't featured them before, really, because Quest is good at text adventures and not much else, but now that I'm stepping into a more flexible engine there's plenty of opportunity for fun little side games and other distractions from the main text adventure/CYOA portion. A Tiny Furry On A Huge Quest is rife for opportunities for minigames to the point where I'm even developing a couple on the side - dungeon delving, betting on micros like in the prototype, other things - but the remake/mobile port of A Tiny Furry In A Huge World could very easily feature them too since I plan on expanding certain areas of the game anyway.

When people think minigame they usually think of some pointless thing from shovelware titles like shoot the targets or other such drudgery, but there would be a genuine attempt to make these more interesting experiences on the whole and I think that, out of everything here, they probably have the most potential for making the game more... a game? For example, there are a lot of moments in A Tiny Furry In A Huge World where you're just given a list of options to choose from, you know, like, the giant decides to squish me, or the giant decides to eat me, or the giant decides to do some other terrible thing.

Rather than just provide a list, there could be a brief opportunity to play a minigame instead... a more 'diegetic' way of making the choice rather than just picking. For what it's worth though I would give the opportunity to just skip the minigame and pick the result you wanted anyway, but, again, I'd be trying to make the minigames fun and intuitive enough that you'd want to play them rather than just enjoy them.

Anyway: vote for this if you'd like to see a few extra minigames. For people who hate them, don't worry: like with everything in this poll, I'm not going to be including it enmasse if people vote a bunch for this option: I'm just trying to get a decent read on what extra features people would like to see in my upcoming games.

Character Portraits/Art

This one is a lot easier to explain than minigames. Character portraits, or character busts, or characters popping up on screen, whatever you wanna call it. These provide a general image of the character and their expression at the time, usually going along with whatever dialogue they happen to be saying.

This one is probably going to be popular, and, for good reason! A visual reference is always a nice thing. I've always wanted to include them in my games but Quest ain't the best at handling images. But much like minigames, I now have so many ways of displaying these that it'd be silly not to do them. On top of that, I have an artist or two who'd be interested in working with me, so!

These are something that are going to happen anyway - in both Huge World and Huge Quest - but if people vote for this then I'll make more of an effort to get more of them! Y'know, multiple expressions, different poses, maybe even a little ingame art?

Sounds & Smells

Okay, okay, maybe not smells... we don't have the technology yet... but sounds! Like character portraits, this one doesn't need any explanation.

The Hungry House had a bunch of sounds for various different things from interactions to vore sequences, and this is something that I'd like to carry forward into both the port of Huge World and Huge Quest. At the very least I'll be making sure there's incidental sounds and such because they just make the game feel nice, but if there's a lot of interest in this then I'll try to get my hands on more than just a couple of vore loops and vore noises and general tomfoolery like that.

Even if this doesn't get a bunch of votes - kinda like everything else - I will be making sure that the two games I'm developing right now will have a pretty comprehensive sound suite. If people are really into sounds, though, then I'll get more!

Achievements & Other Extras

I don't want to put a huge focus on these and I definitely don't just want to include a trite list of achievements for the sake of it, but properly integrating an achievement and reward system into my games could be interesting if only because it means more content and it encourages exploration and such, as well as highlighting certain routes and secrets in a more interesting way than just writing a guide for them would.

I wouldn't really want them to be intrusive either, and I wouldn't want to do achievements that exist just for the sake of it. Stuff like see every single one of Ms. Matthews scenes for example - in a gallery based smutty vore game, you might not want to see every scene because they might not all be to your taste, meaning that this is kind of a bad achievement.

Other extras would be things like a background viewer, or a character viewer, or a sound test menu... stuff that isn't necessarily content as such but just additional things to swipe through and look at.

More Content

In general, you just want more content. More routes, more scenes, more characters, additional opportunities to get ate by, stepped on, or otherwise interact with them. In other words, this is the option that you select if you're just interested in seeing more of my writing in general versus the more 'fluffy' stuff above. The content, after all, is the bread and butter of my games... the meat and bones... and without it you wouldn't really have anything other than, well, a bunch of empty rooms to stroll around I guess?

Voting for this doesn't mean that you aren't interested in the other stuff... especially since this is a multiple choice poll... it just means that it's something that you're looking forward to. If I get a bunch of votes for this then I know to keep additional content in mind when I'm considering reconstructing old areas in the Huge World port and constructing new areas in Huge Quest.

I think that about does it for explaining the polls five options!

Since I apparently can't keep to a firm deadline when it comes to posting on here - which I am going to be easy on myself about given the current circumstances - I'm just going to be vague and say that the Kass story will be up sometime in the next few days! Will it be tomorrow? Maybe! The day after? Possibly! The day after that? Potentially! One of those days? Almost certainly, yes...

For now, A Tiny Furry In A Huge World v1.3 - the final release of it - is on track and on schedule. I'll keep everyone posted if anything changes!

This poll will end on the 19th of June! This way you'll have plenty of time to vote on it.

Happy voting, and I'll see you in a few days!
