One of the largest critiques I have of this series outside of Katara's entire character is how they handled Azula & Ozai's dynamic. I understand the writer's wanted to approach it from the "manipulative father" aspect (which isn't completely out of character for Ozai) but I feel like it dumbs down Azula so much. Her being born a prodigy and inherently ruthless were why she was favored by Ozai and also part of the reason she was such a great villain. That's what makes her character arc so satisfying. I will say that I'm interested to see how they can use these creative changes to make a decent ending. I'm not that hopeful tho. I hope the next seasons prove me wrong.
