Yeah, sousou is an interesting word. I wonder if there's a single word in English that can kind of convey the same feeling as the Japanese. The melancholy at the start and the intimidation here. Maybe Frieren the Pallbearer or something like that? I have a degree in translation and I love coming across little translation puzzles like that.

You don’t count like that human beings, so it’s nice detail to show how she treats demons :) A little thought about ending of this episode: “Sousou no Frieren”, title of anime and title of our elf, can be translated as “Frieren of Funerals”. So it’s a double-meaning here. You can interpret it as Frieren attending the funerals of her friends as they become old. But you can also interpret it as Frieren as being the cause of the funerals for demons after she slaughters them. I understand why translators tried to adapt the title of anime at the start of series airing, and now they changed her title in this episode to “The Slayer”, but because of it — we a little bit lost more cool name dropping at this episode :) As usual, great reaction, thank you very much!
