It was an amazing war. We lost many lives in the battlefield. As a Emilia supporter it was tough. But the Rem supports wouldn't back down eventually the Rem supports finally settled down after many years.

I still to do this day, even after watching this season a few years back, don't understand why they're the set couple for this show. I'm not even rooting for Rem in particular, I just don't see him and Emilia as a good couple. It feels forced because he has to protect her.

2024-01-06 06:54:29 +0000 UTCI actually haven’t watched your alls reaction yet, but I’ll just say, coming from a novel reader, Rem wanted Subaru to say that he loved Emilia. She knows that the Subaru she loves, is the Subaru who won’t give up and run away. Subaru was only offering to run away with her, because he had given up. So she was saving him, the way he saved her when he said she wasn’t her sister. She was telling him what he needed to hear, and she was being selfless. Subaru realized this too, and in his mind he even knew saying “I love Emilia” may be hurtful, but he knew he needed to say it to show Rem that what she said truly got through to him, and that he was back to being his true self. Or better yet, he’s finally able to be his true self for the first time in this new world, after all the walls came down this episode.

He would NEVER listen to anybody trying to help or give advice and always just stuck to his own ideas. Hopefully from this point onward we can see him slowly start to change and become less stubborn and selfish 😭😭

As much as he's been called out on "pretending" to be a hero, underneath all his flaws and selfish tendencies... he genuinely truly has the heart of a hero. When he isn't thinking about trying to impress anyone (including himself)... he can be that hero he desperately wants to be.

If you go back to when betelgeuse first appeared, he said that he is the “Sin Archbishop,” not an actual legitimate sin, just an Archbishop of the actual Sin witch. We already know that Satella killed all the other witches that represent different sins, they gone, no alive, dead. Sam basically nailed the reason why Rem rejected Subaru’s offer. She knew that he loved Emilia. She knows that when Subaru actually means something when he talks about the future, he will say it with a smile. He did not smile at all right there when he asked Rem to run away with him. She also knows he isnt the type to give up. You can tell when he was saying that he wants to “run away” he hadnt given up. His face, the way he was acting is because he hasnt given up. Deep within he never gave up and doesnt want to give up.

Half the fandom probably lost their minds during this episode but its still one of, if not the best episode in the series. Ironically Subaru calling himself lacking in character when he actually has more character than most isekai mcs.

Like you ladies, I can’t help but feel that Rem deserves better. I didn’t expect this show to be so heavy in romance. But I like that it is, can’t wait to see what comes next for the characters.

We don't know what his life was like before, but it seems back then he did nothing and thought of his life as meaningless. This makes sense to why he thought nothing less of his past life when he was transported and was simply excited at starting his life new here. That's some deep rooted self hatred there. It makes sense why all this time he's been so desperate to be the hero and put on the bravado act in front of everyone.. because he's trying to be someone that he's not. This world has broken down that facade over and over again.. revealing who he truly is. A selfish, entitled brat. A broken man full of regrets and hatred for how much he's wasted his life doing nothing and thus being worthless at anything. He's trying too hard to be perfect at everything because he hates himself and is running away from his problems. Now.. we're starting again from Zero. Hence the title of the show. He's starting his life in another world from zero. Starting from zero doesn't just refer to his return by death ability... but also starting over to change as a person. This time he will hopefully change and start listening to the people around him. To form a better option that will benefit not only himself but others because realistically not many people are going to help you if it doesn't benefit themselves. That's just the harsh reality of this world too. To save everyone you'll need to cater to other people's wishes too, not just your own.

2024-01-02 20:57:46 +0000 UTCI love this episode so much. It is important to remember that Rem did violently torture Subaru in one of his restarts, and killed him in another. It is made a bit more clear at this point in the novels that he does have some interest in Rem as well, but he is deeply in love with Emilia and Rem knows this (pretty much everyone knows Subaru loves Emilia, even the people he just met in the capital.)
