Like you guys said, they viewed her as an enemy because she took out a bunch of their army. They captured her and decided to use her to fight against her own country. The country gilbert and his brother are a part of dont train orphans for war, the other country they are fighting against probably does. Violet just so happens to have been captured instead of killed in the war. Usually in these shows it is during a time where the army just wants to win the war no matter what so they used Violet. Hodgins didnt always have a position of power, in that flashback he had recently gotten that position because he won in many battles where there was hardly any dangerous fighting. He WAS always kept safe though because of his family, that is why they put him in areas with as little fighting possible. It is sad that in war all they care about is winning and fuck the fact that violet is a child. They were probably like “fuck this child, she murdered so many of us so now we will use her and throw her away after.” Gilbert and hodgins are the only ones that cared 😭😭😭
