2023-10-03 12:47:04 +0000 UTC@mywrld Toei is notorious for hitting One Piece content creators and it's the main reason channels are so hesitant on reacting to the anime. Even big review channels who barely use any footage/manga panels have been hit by Toei (most notably TotallyNotMark). There's always fighting the copyright strike on the channel, but I think it's totally understandable to not want to fight it and just give up on reacting to One Piece, especially if it's a headache.

And I think Zoro’s backstory would have worked better in episode 5 instead of sidelining Usopp, who honestly was pretty much an afterthought in the live action. It’s clear the writers didn’t know what to do with Usopp’s character.

2023-10-02 07:50:23 +0000 UTCI disagree. Along with Baratie, this arc got its justice and even more...and let's be honest, Syrup Village is by far the weakest arc in the entire series. I quite like what they did with that whole horror mansion thing & I think that Zoro's backstory was seamlessy integrated. It really reminded me of the well scene from The Dark Knight Rises. Also without it we wouldn't have understood why he makes that decision in ep5. I also have seen a good bunch of reactors say they preferred ep3&4 over ep1&2!

They can do 2-3 of those videos a week and get out 6-9 episodes a week and catch up in 3 years. Also I never heard of the toei copyright, is that an actual issue?

I completely understand they couldn’t fit all 14 episodes into 2 episodes and capture everything, but belle’s goal, the reason she told Arlong about her daughters and the family theme are explained wayyy more in the anime, they still tried their best and managed to shine light on everything I’ve mentioned. Regardless, they still did an amazing job with this episode, emotion, Luffy & nami scene, etc.

It’s a commitment for reactors, especially for how big the story is and the world building will be something they are not used to, the world of one piece is massive. If they do plan to watch one piece, you’ll have to wait atleast a couple of months

2023-10-01 19:06:32 +0000 UTC100 Berry = 100 Yen = $1, so the tribute was $1k & Nami's stolen treasure $1mil oh and Belle-mére also told Arlong about her 2 daughters because she knew it would have meant to either never be their mom again since the 2 would have to live in hiding/leave the village or die being their mom protecting that from that kinda fate (it's much more clear in the anime/manga)
