Grave of the Fireflies is definitely the most grim animated film I’ve seen but very beautiful. Hope they get a chance to watch eventually

2023-09-12 17:34:04 +0000 UTCPonyo is the worst Ghibli movie, imo. I mean, it's not terrible, and still enjoyable to a degree, but it just doesn't hit the same way the others do for me. I couldn't really feel any interest or investment in the main character. From this poll alone, KDS and MNT seem very underrated. Though I'll admit the latter is probably the one of the most "childish" of the Ghibli movies (along with Ponyo), in terms of the primary target demographic and overall vibe. Also, I.M.P.O., the majority of Ghibli movies are still better experienced in Japanese with subs. I guess some dubs are decent, though still pretty cheesy and corny all around.
