2023-09-12 17:00:35 +0000 UTCThis is why people don’t watch one piece, instead of entertaining the idea of “one piece is too long” instead say, “don’t let the 1000 episodes Intimidate you, think of it as each saga is its own anime with its own plot and story that adds snippets to the overall story of one piece, think of it as an adventure not something you have to do. You should watch it in your pace and enjoy the journey” this is how one piece is supposed to be portrayed by us fans. I’m not saying it isn’t long, but as a one piece fan to another. It’s not enough, we want another thousand episodes.

Also, there is this insane notion that Oda was supporting/controlling this step by step, but show writers have made it clear that they were constantly trying to change shit and persuade Oda to agree. It's not Oda's job to pick, write script, etc. (Also, i agree it's decent adaptation COMPARATIVELY, but the bar is set very low).

If you keep thinking of it as an anime comparison, you will be disappointed. And idk if Oda picked everyone but he definitely picked the Luffy actor. Theres a literal interview of Oda meeting the actor and saying that when he saw his audition, he knew he was the one to play Luffy. Dont get caught up in the small details. Even when LN/manga are adapted to anime, stuff are left out and sometimes they change up things in order to fit the important bits in. It happens. Overall, this is a much better adaptation than most shows. Like I said above, not perfect. I still believe that live adaptation of animes are not necessary and are most likely to fail. But I enjoyed this live action and believe they made it a diff version of one piece that still retained the same characters/world we had in the anime

Oda didn't do all the things people claim to say he did (Meaning Oda did not hand-pick these characters). You can literally go scene by scene and highlight major changes they made. 99% of it is being worsened.

2023-09-11 02:52:20 +0000 UTCHonestly that is true abiut zoro, but idk if im remembering correctly, but he does kind of like that in the beginning of the anime when luffy first sees him. But on the other side, you do see the actor smiling/laughing a lot more in the season. Other than that, besides that, i do agree, that this was probably the best adaptation ever in the history of adaptations.

2023-09-11 02:21:15 +0000 UTCidk about perfectly. zoro feels a lil too emo at times. he alot more goofier (unintentionally) and also the fact that he was able to locate his swords from Helmeppo was like the most unrealistic part of the show LOLOL. All jokes aside, this adaptation was still great. Def alot better than other live action. You can tell they put the effort/time to build the set, choose the cast and bring the world to life. The fact Zoro doesnt say his attack names makes it funnier and more realistic. And makes Luffy look more nerdy lol. Overall, a great series. A few weird moments here and there but Id say this was a great success of an adaptation

And from what ive heard from other people, is that this is an adaptation of the manga, not the anime, and it is not exactly the same, certain parts/characters are left out. But i thoroughly enjoyed this series of the live action. Also need to keep in mind that Oda himself handpicked these actors, and from my perspective, they have done a phenomenal job. Every actor for every character in the season portrays that character perfectly

You guys are gonna love it 🔥 also don’t feel pressured to watch any openings or whatever if you feel obliged to know who’s who. Netflix killed it with the story telling for this live action so it should play out well.

I know Oda approved it but the anime hits differently. However it'S JUST INSANELY ENTIRELY TOO LONG LOL. Like for example Zoro in the anime is more bad ass and cooler. This zoro is alirght in the live action but can't even hold candle to the zoro in the anime. I wish I could tell you view the anime but 1000 plus episodes Is just insane lol. But if you reallly truly want to feel the feel people talk about from once piece and why it's so great you gotta watch the anime.

LA is a really poor adaptation of the original source, If you find the series interesting maybe consider the source material as well.
