I think at the end of this season where he saw his fathers memories and everything beyond made him realize that Titans are maybe least of their problem. Humans are, and I believe this is where Eren just kinda snapped and looks so devoid and depressed. Kinda wish we never arrived here, knowing there is a lot more to come. Fasten your seatbelt ladies, you have the biggest and final season left. We are with you all the way!

The only thing he shouldn’t have done was what he said to armin as armin didn’t have a choice, but yes telling eren that he, mikasa and Levi brought their emotions into it was correct, that injection was meant to be used to bring back the person that could save humanity and they chose armin instead of Erwin who had years of proven ability, armin only having a few months. Erwin was the right choice and I refuse to believe anything else, the facts don’t lie.
