Update (18th July 2018)

As some of you may have noticed I have been back writing the last few days, so I figured it was time for an update.

In four days I have written almost 40 pages, that is how inspired I have been. The story is currently 303 pages in Word and I have just (literally) finished the section I was working on for a while. That section was the most important of the first sex scene - hence why it took a while and is so long - and I am happy with it as is.

In terms of the progress of the story that means I am about 56% complete with the first draft. BUT, that is not an indication of length or time. I split stories into sections when I write based on topics, and one section can be two paragraphs while another can be ten pages, and so on. So just as an example, a 'blowjob' would be one section, 'doggie style' would normally be another whereas 'missionary' would be another. Though in this story it is different as it is about other things, not positions. But that should give you an idea of what I mean. Anyway, sections can vary in size (e.g. the last section was 77 pages whereas the section before that was 5 pages) but it is the amount of sections complete that go towards how complete the story is - as they are 'what I want to say' in the story, and as they are finished what I want the story to have in it is finished.

So, 56% complete does not mean that I have less than, or as much as/more than, another 303 pages to go. Some of those sections will be smaller and others larger. So how long it has left I do not yet know.

What I *can* say for sure is that with the last section completed the story has turned a corner. As I have said before this story is different - and written differently - from my other stories. It is about her experience cheating for the first time. So the first section of the first sex scene has really shown that and so now what comes is the rest of the sex with some first experiences, rather than her first ever experience of cheating. So that should mean the next sections are not so difficult to write and more like normal.

Just to give you an idea then:

The first sex scene will end at 75% of the story complete. The second scene at 90%. And the third scene at 100%. Each includes the narrative element that leads to the next or outro as well as the sex. The build up was done at 50%. I currently have roughly 32 more sections to write of the story, which is the last 44% of the story. But some will be much smaller than others (e.g. the perspective of characters not having sex, like Rachel's in HP, count as a section).

So I wouldn't say that the story will be finished any time soon, but all of that should give you a better idea of how it is progressing and just how much writing I have been doing lately.

If I were to guess I would say that roughly there will another 300-350 pages left of the story to go. But I don't know. That doesn't mean it will take another five years - remember for most of that time I have not been writing. Whether I will be able to write 40 pages again so quickly I don't know. 5 pages a day is usually a really good amount when writing the sex scenes - if I am writing them hot, that is. Because they have to be a struggle for even me to read/write rather than just enjoy ;) So I won't commit to a schedule. I will, however, keep you informed as to the percentage and sections finished and how the story is going.

And I will say I am excited.

There is a LOT of editing to do on this story. More than any story I have written so far. So even after the first draft is done I will have a lot to do editing the story. BUT, the build up has largely been edited (as I have gone over that 8 times since I started) and I have notes about most of what needs changing/adding to/removing/smoothing/connecting, etc. So I expect editing to, as always, go quicker than principal writing.

But, there you go. Short version: I have been writing a lot, reached a milestone in the story, and am feeling pretty damn good about where the story is going and its progression.
