Update (17th June 2017) - Deleted Scene

So I am working on the new story and as I do I was thinking about the possibility of releasing previews for Patrons as the story gets closer to being finished. What would I release, what would spoil the story, and so on.

As most of you will know I have been working on-and-off with this story since I finished House Party four and a half years ago. This story has gone through a lot of development and changes, as a result. The largest reason for the time this has taken is life and work, but another big reason is I have not been happy with some parts and done a lot of tweaking and experimenting. This has meant that some parts have been moved, others re-written, and others merged throughout. It also means that some ideas for the story have been completely discarded before being written (i.e. in the planning phase) or deleted after being written.

The largest of the latter was a section towards the end of the build up that would have made the build up to this story almost twice as long as it is now. (The current build up is about 120 pages in Word, which is longer than HP is in its entirety on Lit.) I deleted this once I had begun writing it as I felt that instead of adding to the arc of the build up what this section did, rather, was almost start the build up again. So it interrupted what had already built up, stagnated it a little, then built it up a lot more. Although the idea I had for this section was really fun and would have been great, it felt unnecessary and like it would just extend the build up without really adding to the fire.

So, why am I telling you this? Because I thought I would let you (Patrons) see the deleted scene as a thank you and a teaser ;) Note, however, that this is first write-through material and so has not been edited, cut down, fixed (grammatically or with spelling), or read-through to make it hot enough and so on. This is *not* a scene that will be in the finished story, nor was it ever anywhere near being completed - it is only four pages out of what would have been at least seventy. But it should give you a feel for how the story flows, its detail, pace, and a hint at two of the characters.

I WARN YOU BEFORE READING that if you do not want any idea of what the story will be about or any kind of hints at anything, obviously do not read it. The story is a long way from being finished, but I thought you all may be interested in seeing this.
