Development Update - September 2024

Hey y’all. It’s me, typing up your monthly dev update (aka random stream of consciousness) while I watch a God Tier custom rendering in the background that’s threatening to bring forth the boner to end all boners.

So, we’re in the home stretch for Chapter 5, with early access starting tomorrow. I will take this opportunity to kindly remind everyone to not be a major dickbag and talk about the chapter in public, and instead limit yourself to the spoiler channel on the discord or drop a spoiler tag if you’re chatting in the place that shall not be named, or anywhere else. And it will likely prove futile, but I’ll also use it as an opportunity to plead that you do not leak the release when it hits your tier. 1) It’s unfair on the members paying a higher tier to get it early for it to be suddenly available to everyone. 2) I want to be in control of my own release and I even book days off work so that I can be available on public release day. I really don’t want my holidays to be wasted again.

Now, onto the future. I have completed all post work on the chapter 6 renders, but I have yet to do any coding on the audio side… actually I lie, I put a door knocking sound in. Who’s that knocking at MC’s bedroom door so late at night? You’ll see… or maybe you won’t. Chapter 6 is clocking in at 743 renders, 200 less than chapter 5, and that’s with one of the girls’ having 2 alternate paths too. So, I expect CH6 will be shorter than CH5, but I haven’t timed it to know for certain.

I hope to make up for any shortness with Chapter 7 though, which I am now deep into posing. I’m 333 renders in (oooh all the 3s), and I’d estimate I’m only about a quarter of the way through this so far with some nice interactions with Lady Steel, two sizeable H scenes and a pre-end of chapter tag left to pose.

A special tease for the distant future, you’ll be unlocking a couple of those still-locked character bios in this chapter when you meet a couple of new girls. One is close to Mrs. Ross and another you’ll come across on the Lucía path. Neither have a huge impact on the main story as I’d rather the core girls get the focus, but I wanted to introduce a few new characters to have some fun with and maybe acquire some powers from. After this I only have one more girl written that has yet to make an appearance, but who knows what the future may hold. I’ll refrain from teasing these girls anymore until closer to chapter 7 (so 6 months?... sorry).

It also occurs to me how much content in chapter 6 & 7 was not in my original script I wrote 18 months ago. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still more or less following the script, but these ideas to flesh out all the different characters keep coming to me. To give you an idea on how different the game has turned out to my script, one prime example is Amber, who was more or less a side character until later chapters (like 9 or 10), who has since become one of the main girls right from the start. Once I wrote the flashback scenes with her in, with the flirting with MC and hints at her mental struggles because of her invisibility, I began to love her.

Another example is the path you may embark on with Lucía in Chapter 5. In the original script, she was just a major bitch who dropped in and out to do major bitchy things. Back then her power (and the means to get it) was MC’s white whale… and as such, she wasn’t in a great deal of the story. But now, over the next few chapters, she’ll be bordering on being a main player. What you do with that bitchiness is up to you. Do you make her pay for being such a bitch, or do you get to the bottom of why she is such a bitch in the first place?
