Development Update - February 2024

Hey all you Sisterhoodlums.

It's time for another development update, the first one since of the release of Chapter 2.

So Chapter 2 brought a whole new audience and patrons to Origin Story (hello!), and I'm incredibly grateful for all the positive feedback I have received, and the support you have shown me. Every little bit of support you give me is incredibly helpful to me, both in terms of the encouragement to do this more and the financial incentive for my wife to forgive me for ignoring her while I work on OS in 90% of my spare time outside of work and fatherhood.

Now the release of Chapter 2 also brought a tonne of criticism too, and the constructive and, most importantly, respectful criticism I have taken into account. I'm tweaking a few things here and there over the things I agree with. The rest of it, as you can tell by "Post Release Debrief" post I put up two weeks ago, was a load of BS from a loud (and frankly mostly insane) minority, and while it did get to me a little, I'm growing thicker skin by the day.

That said, without the Parker controversy I don't think I would have even got 95% of this criticism or trolling. So I am making some minor tweaks to the dialogue during it, mostly, to clarify my intentions on why this is scene is included and improve the MC's inner monologue during it, because in hindsight, it does not come across the way I intended it. 

But, ultimately, the scene will remain... and if that loud minority still take umbrage with it, then so be it. What I will also be doing however, is including a warning right at the start of the game, explaining that this scene is included, clarifying it is the only scene of its kind and giving them the option there and then to opt out. That way, they have no excuse if they miss it, nor any excuse to spread lies that it is going to be a full on NTR game. Plus it also removes the awkward chat with Fraser at the start which was purely there as a means to bring the "voyeurism" option up.

Now, onto what I've been working on since the previous update:

Chapter 3 is now fully written, posed, rendered, postworked, coded etc... There's just a few tweaks to the audio I need to do but other than that, we're golden. I will pre-warn you, it is probably the smallest chapter so far in terms of length and maybe the one with the least story progression too. I guess I consider it a bridge chapter (how MC gets from Sisterhood HQ and back to his normal life). 

It does, however, really introduce one of my favorite characters, Lady Steel (pictured) who's only had two lines so far. She will become a big part of the story going forward, and I hope people fall in love with her through Chapter 4 as I have done making it. 

And it also has one potential lewd scene, with four possible variants. Each variant is 95% independently written and posed, so basically four scenes you can play depending on choices (well, it's only two choices if you don't have lesbian content on... wink wink).

And as I have previously mentioned, it also includes one of my favorite character building scenes if you didn't select a certain option in Chapter 2 (the option that rewarded you more than you were expecting... you know it). Hopefully this scene will help with some of the other, frankly dumb, criticism I received about a certain character and how their powers work.

Chapter 4... is also fully written & mostly all coded. I have maybe 10-15 scenes left to pose & render and about 300 left to post-work. I've not done any audio work on that chapter at all yet, so there's that too. It has roughly the same amount of renders as Chapter 3 will have, but where Chapter 3's has lots of alternate scenes, 4 is very much linear, so is much longer to play through. 

I love Chapter 4 so much, I hope you guys do too when it comes to release. It has a bit of everything: plot progression, character moments, easter eggs, comedy, rosy ass cheeks, action, superpowers, lewds, Amber.
