Google Translate Got Worse? Here’s Why!
Added 2025-03-14 14:28:48 +0000 UTCFellow translators,
This is a brief statement regarding the recent changes in Google Translate. No matter what software you use, if you rely on Google Translate, this information may be useful to you.
I’m making this statement because many people have been asking the same question , and I’ve had to explain it over and over—like a broken record. 😅
❓ Why has Google Translate’s translation quality declined?
Google recently changed how its translation system works. As a result, all unpaid and unauthorized translations have been affected—intentionally lowering the quality of translations that don’t use the official API. This can be observed in several ways:
🔹 Translations from tools like Translator++ (and others) are now worse compared to last year.
🔹 Translations from these tools are also lower in quality than the web version of Google Translate (translate.google.com).
I believe this change happened around January 2025 and has affected all tools that rely on the unpaid web API.
Personally, I don’t know why Google chose this approach instead of just disabling the unpaid API entirely. 🤷♂️
Is this a business strategy? Many online translation services unofficially use Google Translate under the hood. Perhaps this change is meant to make official Google translations stand out more? 🤔 I have no idea. If you heard any info about this, please let me know.
🚀 What’s Next?
That said, I’m currently working on an alternative translation method that doesn’t rely on the Web API. You can try using Google RPA 🛠️, which translates text through translate.google.com’s front end automatically—but in a more natural way than automation techniques like Puppeteer or Selenium (which would trigger Google’s anti-bot system).
🔄 Recent Changes in Google Translate
This year, Google has made some major updates, for better or worse:
✅ Noticeable improvement in translation quality—which is great! 🎉
Google Translate now understands nuance and context much better, significantly improving translation accuracy.
❌ Formatting is now inconsistent.
Previously, Google Translate preserved line breaks consistently, making batch translation much easier.
The current version has sacrificed formatting consistency for better translation accuracy, making batch translations more difficult. 📉 You may notice misaligned translations that no longer match their original lines.
I’m continuing to improve Google RPA and explore new ways to enhance translation quality and consistency. This effort is made possible thanks to your support and patronage! 🙌
🏁 Final Thought
"You're still using Google Translate instead of switching to superior AI translation?" 🤭
💙 Thank you for your support! And happy translating

2025-03-16 04:26:43 +0000 UTCIt is that in some countries like mine the AI is banned and we only have google or deepl but deepl only translates up to a certain limit per day, that's why google is not necessary, but I think it is excellent that you have explained this issue with google translator.
