I have received many questions regarding DeepL suddenly not working.

Let me explain the situation.

First of all, from your questions, I know that many of you are still using DeepL. I thought you had switched to AI translation that produces better translation quality.

The DeepL plugin (the unofficial one) works by translating text directly from the official DeepL translation site, where everyone can use it for free. Unlike the official paid DeepL translation, where we use the official API, there are special tricks and techniques involved to translate automatically in DeepL's public translator for free.

Any changes to the DeepL page can affect the functioning of this trick. This is why ongoing efforts are needed to maintain the DeepL add-on regularly.

The same applies to other free translation add-ons. This is the reason why some free translation plugins stop working after a while. Your support enables me to continue maintaining this add-on and ensure it works.

And thanks to your support, I can enable DeepL again this time. However, this time it required a greater effort than before because the NWJS core used by Translator++ does not support the latest DeepL's update. So, there is a workaround to do it.

The video in this post demonstrates how you can download and use the latest DeepL add-on. The first time you translate with DeepL, Translator++ will automatically install a DeepL server for you. Everything is done automatically, so there are no changes in how you use DeepL, except for the addition of a monitoring window.
