In the final song of Act 1 (Happy Ending), I feel like Ja'far's part: "And one day the genie will say to me: "Ja'far, you're a man of such virtue I hate to see how your loneliness And your memories hurt you Shouldn't a man who's so noble And whose influence is so global Have someone by his side? I know what you're wishin' So with your permission I'd like to bring back your bride"" Is very similar to: "And one day, he'll say to me, "Elphaba A girl who is so superior Shouldn't a girl who's so good inside Have a matching exterior? And since folks here to an absurd degree Seem fixated on your verdigris Would it be alright by you If I de-greenify you?"" In the Wizard and I. Not sure if I'm reaching, but I immediately thought of it when I heard Happy Ending for the first time.

As for the next Starkid show I'd love you to check out, hrmm... they're all great, shoot. All I can think about is VHS Christmas Carol, but you can save that one for later. Oregon Trail is also great, and has multiple endings if y'all are into Choose Your Own Adventure shows.

Also, Hi, I joined your Patreon again just for this lol Edit almost 3 hours into the reaction: Im not sure if anyone pointed this out before but Orphaned at 33 is based off of "Proud of Your Boy" which was originally a cut song from the original movie and was brought back for the Broadway production.

2025-09-27 01:37:00 +0000 UTCAs an interesting point, at the beginning of Part 4, while 'barbaric, but hey it's home' is still in the beginning song of Aladdin, in the theatrical release the full verse included the lines 'Where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face, it's barbaric, but hey it's home', but they were changed for the VHS re-release as there were complaints. There was actually a single run of VHS where these lyrics were kept, but most were recalled when they were changed. My school had one of the original tapes, so I was incredibly confused when I heard different lyrics when i rewatched it!
